What stays on your Mac

Your files, recordings, clipboard history, dictation, emails, photos and everything else the apps work with are processed locally on your Mac. We never receive them. Speech recognition, text recognition and file conversion use Apple’s on-device frameworks.

What the apps send over the internet

• Update checks: the app downloads a small file from its own newmac.app address to see if a newer version exists, and downloads the update if so. This request includes the app’s name and version.
• License checks: when you activate, deactivate or the app re-checks a license (about once a week), it sends your license key and your Mac’s name and model to Dodo Payments, our payment provider, to confirm the license.
• Your own services: some apps connect to services you set up yourself — for example Mailcellar connects to your email provider and Shareline to your file servers. That data goes directly between your Mac and that service.

The apps contain no analytics, advertising or tracking.

Purchases

When you buy, Dodo Payments processes your payment as Merchant of Record and receives your name, email and billing details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email and order details so we can provide support and licenses.

This website

newmac.app is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the site. We don’t use advertising cookies.

Your choices and contact

You can turn off automatic updates in each app’s Settings. To ask about or delete purchase data we hold, email [email protected].
